Compound Angle Formulae

sin (A + B)
= sin A cos B + cos A sin B

cos (A + B)
= cos A cos B - sin A sin B

tan (A + B)
= tan A + tan B
1 - Tan A Tan B

A-level standard trigonometry. Maths all correct. Good pluralisation of 'formulae'. Neat handwriting. Loses a mark for 'Tan' instead of 'tan'. But otherwise: excellent work!

  3. I'd observe that A and B are not an usual way to symbolize angles, it's much more common to use alpha and beta from greek alphabet, so a 9/10 is a bit too much imho

  4. My A-level formula book uses A and B, (AEB GCE A and AS level Formulae and Statistical Tables, 1994 version). It might be a UK thing.

  9. Actually 'formulae' is not correct. Although it's a Latin word and its original plural was like that, the word has been used in English for so long that it is fully naturalised now and the English plural 's' should be preferred.

  15. It looks like she has written sun(A+B) instead of sin. Also I would have highlighted that greek letters of the beggining of the greek alphabet are more used for angles than latin letters. I would have given them a 8/10.
